Established in February 2024, Killeen Haitian United (KHU) is a community organization dedicated to uniting Haitians in Killeen through cultural celebration, solidarity, and shared experiences. Our mission is to promote a sense of belonging and empower the community by honoring our rich Haitian heritage.

From cultural festivals to community outreach programs, our events bring together people of all backgrounds for experiences that inspire and unite.
- Afronight Caribbean (May 18, 2023):
A celebration of Haitian flag day and Afro-Caribbean culture through music, food, and history. - Battle of Vertières Commemoration (November 18, 2023):
Honors Haiti’s historic victory with performances from artists whose work is deeply rooted in history. - Konpa in Killeen (April 27, 2024):
A night of vibrant music and entertainment featuring live performances by Kenny Haiti, Fatima, and Wood Terrib. - Bwakayiman Ceremony (August 24, 2024):
A cultural event commemorating the historic Bois Caïman ceremony that sparked the Haitian Revolution.
- Independence Soup (January 1, 2024):
In collaboration with FONDASYON FÉLICITEE, this event distributed Haiti’s traditional independence soup to over 300 people, celebrating solidarity and cultural heritage. - 5K Run & Walk (June 29, 2024):
A community-centered event encouraging wellness and bringing together students and participants from all over for a day of fitness and fun.
- Paint & Sip (September 22, 2024):
A creative event closing the Bwakayiman festivities, where participants can enjoy painting and wine at the Killeen Mall. - KHU Carnival (October 2025):
An outdoor celebration of “Unity in Diversity” featuring performances from bands representing Haiti, Brazil, Jamaica, Louisiana, and local schools.
